Obituary for Lewis Constantine Leonard

Lewis Constantine Leonard, 82 years. US Army Veteran-Korean Conflict. Loving father of Phoebe (Steven) Radosevich and Zach Leonard; proud grandfather of Alexandra, Christopher and Nicholas Radosevich; dear brother of Kathryn Paras. Married Penelope Johnson in 1967 with whom he raised his family.

Lewis Leonard studied as an undergraduate at the University of Illinois and Bradley University. He graduated with a bachelor of arts and business degrees in 1957 and served in the United States Army from 1953 through 1957. Lewis started his career with Arthur Rubloff in Chicago and moved on to work for himself as a land developer. In the 1970's he and his partners pioneered the development of thousands of affordable senior apartments throughout the State of Illinois including the first of its kind in Springfield, Illinois. Lewis then went on his own to develop luxury condominiums in Chicago as well as developments in Springfield, Oak Brook, Woodstock, Rosemont, and throughout Chicagoland. In his retirement, he collaborated with his son in the development of supportive living communities for seniors and physically disabled younger adults. He enjoyed hunting and above all being a father to his two children and a loving family man and friend.

Resting at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Rd., Lombard on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 4:00 to 9:00 pm. Family and friends are asked to meet on Friday at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 2501 S. Wolf Rd., Westchester for 10:00 am Funeral Service. Interment Bronswood Cemetery.
